Why I Chose This Journey
Art, history, and the character of northern France
I chose this cruise for the way it brings together so many of the experiences I value in travel: history, architecture, local culture, and a strong sense of place. Along the Seine, medieval towns and riverside landscapes connect Paris with Normandy, offering different perspectives on France throughout the journey.
Monet’s gardens at Giverny, Rouen’s historic streets, and the coastal character of Honfleur each hold their own appeal. The opportunity to visit Normandy’s landing beaches adds a particularly meaningful dimension, with time to reflect on the events that shaped this coast and the world beyond it.
I also appreciate the choice of excursions, from guided walks to more active exploration. With regional food and wine woven into the experience and options to spend additional time in France, this is a journey I selected for travelers who enjoy understanding a place through its stories, landscapes, and everyday pleasures.

Day 4
Le Havre & Caudebec-en- Caux
From Le Havre, choose an excursion to Normandy’s U.S. landing beaches, the British and Canadian landing beaches, or a full-day visit to the Pays d’Auge region. Later, visit the Seine Museum in Caudebec-en-Caux.
Day 5
Rouen
Discover medieval Rouen on a guided walking tour, explore the city by bike, or savor local flavors during a Tastes of Normandy excursion.
Day 6
Vernon
Enjoy scenic cruising along the Seine, then choose a visit to Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny, a guided tour of Château de Bizy, or a bike tour through Giverny.
Day 7
Paris
Discover the artistic heritage of Auvers-sur-Oise on a guided walk, visit Château de Malmaison, or explore the area by bike. Later, enjoy a Bateaux Parisiens sightseeing cruise in Paris.
Day 8
Paris
Disembark in Paris with wonderful memories of your journey, or extend your stay in France with an optional land package in Reims and Chantilly.
